WSSSM is joining forces with the Nordic Museum to present a joint exhibit on ski jumping in 2021.
WSSSM mourns the loss of Susan Carlson Moffett, wife of Founder and Board of Directors President, Dave Moffett. Susan died on April 6, 2020, of natural causes. She was a fixture on Snoqualmie Pass and in the ski industry for many years. Read Susan’s obituary here.
WSSSM welcomes our new intern, Alex Crump, who is getting his masters degree at the University of Washington’s Museology Graduate Program. Please help Alex by filling out this survey about the museum by May 8.
WSSSM mourns the passing of our Co-Founder, Board Member, and regular volunteer, Dollie Armstrong. Dollie was a remarkable person – a woman of strong ideas, effort, and action. While her contributions to the museum were numerous, she will be especially remembered for her tenacity in creating the WSSSM exhibit on our state’s 39 Olympians. A celebration of Dollie’s life will be held Saturday May 4, 2019 at 5:00pm (doors open 3:30-7:30pm) Montlake Community Center 1618 E. Calhoun St., 98112. Read Dollie’s Seattle Times obituary here. WSSSM is forming a Junior Board of Directors. Responsible high schoolers interested in joining this brand new board should contact Kathy Moffett McDonald at info@wsssm.org. Responsibilities include volunteering at the museum, planning events, updating social media, and collaborating with the current Board of Directors.
